Comparison Of Environmental Policies in The Mining Field in Indonesia, China and The United States

Abstract
Comparison of mining management environmental policies between Indonesia, China and the United States includes aspects of regulations set by the Government, Government Agencies involved in fostering, controlling and supervising mining management, requirements for obtaining a Mining Business Permit, provisions for tailings storage, responsibility for mining waste management, provisions related to mining closures, as well as the social responsibility of mining managers towards local communities living around mining areas. In general, the environmental policies for mining management in these three countries have fulfilled the recommendations of the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) related to mining management for sustainable development, starting from the availability of national scale mining regulations and government bodies that carry out supervision preparation of environmental approval documents, as well as Mining Company responsibilities towards the environment and social.
